VENTURES AFRICA – The Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquaio fight – the biggest in boxing’s recent history – looms large as millions look forward to May 2 when both boxers will take the ring. While it remains debatable that this will boxing biggest ever fight, these numbers are proof that it is most certainly the richest in history.

$400 million

The super fight is expected to generate as much as $400 million from various revenue streams despite the fact that organizers have had a relatively short window to run marketing promotions. Regardless of time constraints, the fight will break many records. Revenue streams include Pay-Per-View (PPV) television sales, gate revenues and sponsorship.


The cheapest available tickets for the fight at MGM Grand Garden Arena are reportedly on sale for $1,500- if you can find them. According to various reports, the 500 tickets made available to the public were sold out in one minute. Other ticket prices range from $10,000 to as high as $100,000. The fight could generate as much as $74 million from live gates. This will trump the existing record of $20 million set during Mayweather’s fight against Saul Alvarez in 2013.
