Because you can be an amazing athlete and small!

In, 5-foot-tall 2008 Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce came out of relative obscurity to win the 100m gold medal, becoming the first Caribbean woman to do so. Which is kinda badass on it’s own, but she’s done way more than that.

Because she did it again in 2012, though this time everyone had their eyes on her.  The “Pocket Rocket,” as she is nicknamed, had been born. Then in 2013 she became the first female sprinter to win 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m in a single world championship.

But let’s not forget, “Fraser-Pryce was the first woman to own IAAF world titles at 60m, 100m, 200m and 4x100m,[4] and is the only woman ever to hold them all simultaneously.”

All this is to say this amazing woman from Kingston who has been named IAAF World Athlete of the year, is beyond an amazing athlete. But, that’s not all. Known for changing her hairstyle during track season, she launched her own hair business in Jamaica, Chic Hair Ja. She was known for painting Moscow pink, after all…

Because when you are standing on the podium all those times with your awards you want to look good. Those pics last a long time…
