As Head of Human Resources and Community Engagement, Dr. Thelá R. Thatch brings over two decades of expertise in human resources, talent management, organizational development, and diversity and inclusion initiatives to her role at The Africa Channel. Her responsibilities encompass leading and implementing comprehensive strategies in talent acquisition, diversity, equity, and inclusion, aligning them with the organization’s core values and objectives.
Before joining The Africa Channel, Dr. Thatch served as the Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at Paychex. She has also contributed her expertise as an executive consultant to the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, where she developed human capital strategies to aid vulnerable populations. Her tenure as Chief Diversity Officer at Live Nation Entertainment is notable for establishing the organization’s first diversity initiative within a global workforce of over 10,000 employees.
Her experience extends beyond corporate roles, having worked with various Fortune 500 companies, including Fox Television and Cablevision. As a thought leader in her field, Dr. Thatch is also a published author. Her works include a children’s book, “The Dog Chef”, and several articles for publications like the LA Times and Black Enterprise Magazine. She is also the author of an upcoming book dedicated to the study of inclusion.
Dr. Thatch’s academic credentials include a BA in Communications from Kean University, an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources from North Greenville University, and an MPhil from Walden University. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration with a specialization in law from Walden University, where she contributes as a faculty member.
