Access Bank to Empower Women
Come Saturday, March 21, 2015, the Access Bank Ghana Limited will launch its Women’s Banking Initiative dubbed -‘W’- to empower and cater for all needs of every woman, irrespective of the age and status in society.
The ‘W’ initiative is an approach to women banking, which provides them with relevant solutions to the financial and lifestyle needs. This holistic plan which intends to cater for all the needs of women and empower them will be supported by an online interactive community dedicated to women in society.
During a media interaction at La Palm Royal Beach, yesterday, the Head of Women Banking, Access Bank, Josephine Eva Arthur, said “As a bank we have come to understand the importance and the role of women in society”.
She said “Women constitute about 51% of the population, 53% of the labour force, 44% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 70% of micro economy and 88% of food production”, a statistics which indicates that women contribute a lot as far as the Ghanaian economy was concerned and, therefore, a little support to them would subsequently bring transformation to the economy.
