Zuriel Oduwole: Meet One of The World’s Youngest Directors
Though she be little, she is mighty.
What started with a school documentary competition about the Ghana revolution has lead Zuriel Oduwole to being profiled in Forbes, making her the youngest person to get such an honor.
At the age of 12, Oduwole already has four documentaries under her belt, and they all deal with African issues. Born in Los Angeles, her parents are Nigerian and Mauritian, and her latest project continues her focus on Africa. “A Promising Africa” is a series that will profile five African nations.
And on top of all that, she’s years ahead of her peers in school and she has a side project “Dream Up, Speak Up, Stand Up”, aimed at helping kids get educated worldwide, which has lead to her speaking to 24,000 kids in 11 countries.
She’s interviewed almost 20 heads of state, and calls Aliko Dangote “friend.” Can you imagine what her teenage years will bring?!
She’s also a friend to the Africa Channel, she appeared in our Naija Bites series in 2014.
