Kim Kardashian Stirs Up Trouble in Nigeria
According to AllAfrica.com source Lanre Odukoya, media socialite and expecting mother of Kanye West’s baby, Kim Kardashian, was reportedly paid $500,000 for a recent one-time appearance in Lagos. Nigeria’s multi-platinum selling songwriter, Dare Art Alade, a.k.a Darey, was supposedly tapped to host with the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, at his “Love Like a Movie” concert. However, the visit wasn’t quite what some eager and expectant fans were hoping for. The reality-TV personality allegedly made a “don’t-blink” appearance, despite the reports from fans that they were led to believe she would be co-hosting the Valentine’s Day event. She took an Instagram pic as she was boarding the plane to leave and supposedly tweeted, “Thank you for the amazing time Nigeria. Can’t wait to come back soon.” This was all while the show was still in progress.
The anticipation from fans had been sky high since August 2012, when sources began claiming that Kim would be co-hosting the concert. Despite other headliners such as Maxwell, and Naija stars such as Tuface Idibia and Banky W, the event supported by First Bank and organized by Soul Music did not please some attendees.
“Much ado over a female with little or no talent or skill apart from one boring s.e.x tape. I don’t see anything special about this girl ooh!…I’d rather watch Nicki Minaj or Omotola or Nkiru than Kim K!!!,” ranted one Tweeter.
Ouch. What do you think of the controversy?
