- 1 lb dried catfish
- 1 lb goat meat
- ½ lb pomo shaki (skin of cow)
- 1 tbsp crayfish
- 1 tbsp dried pepper
- 1 tbsp ground nut
- ½ cup palm oil
- ½ cup Nigerian peanut butter
- 1 cup pounded yam
- ½ onion
- ½ tomato
- 1 red pepper
- 1 tbsp all-purpose seasoning
PreparationGround Nut Soup:
Heat palm oil.
Add onion and peanut butter.
Cook for 5 -10 minutes.
Boil goat until thoroughly cooked with pomo shaki and dried catfish.
These will add flavor to the soup mixture.
When done, add to original mixture of palm oil, onion, and peanut butter.
Sprinkle in powdered pepper, crayfish, and all-purpose seasoning.
Roughly chop onions and pepper.
Add to blender 15 - 20 seconds.
Add blended mixture to the stew and stir well.
Leave to cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
In separate pot add ½ liter of water and bring to a boil.
Slowly stir in yam powder to make into a dough consistency.
Ensure the mixture is lump free.
Add more water when needed.
Mold dough in small bowl to serve on plate.
Serve Ground Nut Stew with the Pounded Yam.
