West Africa has been hit with the worst Ebola outbreak in recorded history, according to the World Health Organization. The countries involved include Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria. First detected in March of 2014, the virus has around 27,007* suspected and confirmed cases, and over 11,137* deaths.
The virus is spread from animals to humans, and then humans spread it through contact with fluids of an infected person. It is not an airborne virus. Sadly, currently there is no vaccine.
