#BlackLatinxHistory and Juliana Pache
Because Black-Latinx History Matters and Should Have a Place at the Table
Black History Month rolls around every year, and some within the community feel that their variety of black, the Black-Latinx experience, isn’t talked about or celebrated. Juliana Pache decided to do something about it. (If you want to read more about what Black-Latinx means, read here.)
And #BlackLatinXHistory was born.
What’s the power in a hashtag you may think? The power to bring unity. To bring together people who were feeling alone and separate. To be a rallying cry. And that’s exactly what her work and this hastag has meant to many Black-Latinx people.
